Description
The Shift is not about the moment something breaks. It is about what happens in the silence that follows. After a collapse, clarity isn't immediate. There is weight. There is residue. There is the slow, disorienting work of finding out what remains and what no longer does. I wanted this painting to feel like that space, not empty, but unsettled. The structures are still present but no longer load-bearing. The light breaks through in one place, unexpected, carrying warmth into a surface still finding its new form. The gold you find in the layers was always there. The shift did not create it. It revealed it.
